In the case of Asatryan v Armenia the applicant alleged the violation of Articles 5 § 1 (c) and 5 § 4 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. The European Court of Human Rights in its judgment of 9 February 2010 found violation of Article 5 § 1 (c) of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and obliged the respondent State to pay 500 euros for the costs and expenses suffered by the applicant, as well as for non-pecuniary damage in the amount of 2,000 euros.
