In the case of Hovhannisyan and Shiroyan v Armenia the applicants alleged the violation of Article 1 of Protocol 1, Article 6 and 8 of European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. The European Court of Human Rights in its judgment of 20 July 2010 found violation of Article 1 of Protocol 1 of European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. The Court reserved the question of the application of Article 41 and invited the Government and the applicants to submit, within the three months from the date on which the judgment becomes final in accordance with Article 44 (2) of the Convention, their written observations on the matter and, in particular, to notify the Court of any agreement that they may reach.
