2010 training on topic

On 28-29 May 2010 Armenian Institute for Development together with its partner American Bar Association (ABA/ROLI) Armenian office has passed a two-day training on topic for about 25 advocates. Training was particularly devoted to Article 3 and 13 of the European Convention on Human Rights, as well as to some questions concerning just satisfaction claims. Half of the participants were selected from the Public defender's office (Chamber of Advocates of RA). Training was held in Aghveran of Kotayq region.

Eighth meeting of lawyers network

Armenian Institute for Development has undertaken the eighth meeting of lawyers network (second for 2010) within the framework of the “Strategic litigation in Caucasus” project. The meeting took place on 8 May 2010 in Yerevan at the premises of ABA/CEELI Armenian  office. This meeting has become possible with the assistance of ABA/CEELI Armenian office. From event partners there have participated Arman Poghosyan from Armenian Institute for Development and Kregg Halstead and Gayleen Mkrtchyan form ABA/CEELI Armenian office. Overall number of fourteen lawyers participated in the event. Ara Ghazaryan and Arthur Poghosyan were invited as experts.

2010 training in Aghveran

On 10-11 April 2010 Armenian Institute for Development together with its partner American Bar Association (ABA/ROLI) Armenian office has passed a two-day regional training for about 20 advocates. Training was particularly devoted to Article 6 and 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights and its corresponding national legal practices. The participants were selected to be either the advocates from different regions of Armenia or the advocates who have successfully passed a bar exam in 2009. Training was held in Aghveran of Kotayq region. Among the participants there were distributed several publications made under the project of "Strategic Litigation in Caucasus", among which "Case-law of the European Court of Human Rights" book and "How to apply to the European Court of Human Rights" manual.

Seventh meeting of lawyers network

2009 regional study visit

 In the framework of the "Strategic Litigation in Caucasus" programme "Article 42 of the Constitution" has organized study visit for its project partners from Armenia (Armenian Institute for Development) and Azerbaijan (Legal Education Society). The study visit has lasted from 8 to 13 of November 2009 in Tbilisi. From Armenian Institute for Development there participated Arman Poghosyan (project coordinator), Arthur Grigoryan (project lawyer) and Davit Khachaturyan (project expert). Project partners had an opportunity of sharing experience with each other on a bunch of interested questions and to discuss problems that were encountered in litigations both on the domestic and international level (European Court of Human Rights). Another objective of this regional study visit was to allow participants to develop professional network of contacts within regional countries and to get acquainted with the work of the Office of Public Defender (Ombudsman) of Georgia, as well as of other Georgian human rights NGOs (Georgian Young Lawyers Association, the Center for Protection of Constitutional Rights, Human Rights Center and Penal Reform International). American Bar Association (ABA/ROLI) Armenian office has assisted Armenian Institute for Development in the organization of this regional study visit.
